Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to design, develop, and maintain data solutions that support business decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, experience with modern BI tools, and a passion for transforming data into actionable insights.  This role is ideal for someone eager to deepen their data expertise, with opportunities to expand into Data Engineering responsibilities over time. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Design, develop, and maintain BI solutions (reports, dashboards, and semantic models) 

• Build impactful and user-friendly visualisations using Power BI 

• Develop and maintain operational and paginated reports using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) 

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions 

• Develop and optimize data models to ensure performance and scalability 

• Leverage Microsoft Fabric capabilities (e.g., Lakehouse, Dataflows, Warehouses) where applicable 

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality across BI solutions 

• Monitor and troubleshoot reporting and data pipeline issues 

• Support ad hoc analysis and reporting needs 

• Document data definitions, processes, and business logic 

• 5+ Proven experience as a BI Developer or similar role 

• Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases 

• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report development, performance tuning) 

• Experience developing and maintaining reports using SSRS 

• Understanding of data modeling concepts (star schema, dimensional modeling) 

• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and tools 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders 

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) 

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric (e.g., Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines) 

• Exposure to data warehousing solutions (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake) 

• Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, PySpark) 

• Understanding of version control and DevOps practices

• Strong interest in data engineering concepts, including data pipelines, distributed processing, and data architecture 

• Willingness and ability to grow into a Data Engineering role over time 

• Curiosity to learn and work with modern data platforms, particularly Microsoft Fabric and the Power BI ecosystem 

• Appreciation of both modern BI (Power BI) and traditional reporting tools (SSRS) 

• Ownership mindset and proactive approach to continuous improvement 

• Enthusiasm for working in a data-driven environment and contributing to the evolution of the organization’s data platform
